[mnet-devel] patches for you; v0.6.2 coming soon willy nilly

I'm going to declare whatever we have to be v0.6.2 once Tuesday rolls around, 
because I'd rather tell people at CodeCon that we have a released version with 
some bugs than that we don't have a released version.

Please test these patches against current CVS HEAD (v0.6.2.345-STABLE).  Each 
patch fixes a significant bug in the comms layer.
